Katie’s practice is focused on complex divorce matters, including the drafting and litigation of premarital and postnuptial agreements. She also represents clients in business disputes. Katie graduated with distinction from the University of Kansas in 2002 and earned her Juris Doctor from the KU School of Law in 2005.
Katie is a Past President of the Johnson County Bar Association and a Barrister in the Johnson County Family Law American Inn of Court. She served for six years on the Kansas Bar Association Board of Governors representing Johnson County. In addition, she has been appointed as a Special Master for discovery matters and is a frequent presenter at continuing legal education seminars, speaking on topics such as jurisdiction, discovery, and financial analysis in complex divorces.
She is the author of the “Property Division and Maintenance” chapter in the Kansas Bar Association’s Practitioner’s Guide to Kansas Family Law (3rd ed., 2023). Her work has been recognized by her peers through her selection as a Best of the Bar honoree by the Kansas City Business Journal.
In 2024, Katie was elected by lawyers of the Third Congressional District to her second term on the Kansas Supreme Court Nominating Commission. She also serves on the Kansas Board for Discipline of Attorneys, by appointment of the Kansas Supreme Court.
Katie is licensed to practice law in both Kansas and Missouri.
