Katie graduated with distinction from the University of Kansas in 2002. She obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from the KU School of Law in 2005. She focuses her practice on complex divorce and child custody matters, as well as drafting and litigating premarital and postnuptial agreements. Katie also represents clients in business disputes. She is the Past President of the Johnson County Bar Association, Barrister in the Johnson County Family Law American Inn of Court and currently represents Johnson County on the Kansas Bar Association Board of Governors. Katie has been appointed Special Master regarding discovery issues and has presented continuing legal education seminars on several topics, including jurisdiction, discovery and understanding financial statements in complex divorce matters. Katie co-authored the 2016 Supplement on Property Division and Maintenance in the Kansas Bar Association’s Practitioner’s Guide to Kansas Family Law, as well as the Family Law chapter of the 2016 and 2017 Kansas Annual Surveys of the Law. Her most significant accomplishment is managing her three “energetic” young children, their various sports and activities and serving as PTO President of their elementary school.
